There are plenty of remarkable characters in different mainstream anime in today’s generation but I admit there are many awesome characters that are not known to many viewers and only limited to a certain group of individuals. For example, anime film or series that was based from video games are probably popular among gamers but not in the entire community of anime fans.
All these times, I’d watched a lot of feature films from different genres and from different sources like video games, visual novels and light novels or a film adaptation of a certain anime series. Probably, those films based from video games are typically boring since I believe that the plots are relatively weak. Yet I admire the graphics and visual effects of such films, well if I am on the mood of watching action-adventure story then those video games movie adaptations are my first options.
Sengoku Basara: The Last Party is an anime film based from the Sengoku Basara video game series and it was also the last in the anime series adaptation showing the fans of the final battle of different characters in the story.
The story is not really engaging and interesting if I will give my opinion, maybe it is because I am kinda fed up of the setting of the entire film. The Sengoku period on which warring warlords ruled the land was just very common with the participation of many famous Japanese figures in the given period.
The fight scenes are literally good if not that great, and I think it is one of the edges of the film that keeps my spirit interested to finish watching it until the end. Furthermore, there are many interesting characters in the game though I kinda feel out of place since I don’t have that much of knowledge about the Sengoku Basara video game series. What I like about the film is that T.M. Revolution sung both the opening and ending song; definitely the opening simply reminds me of “Vestige” his song from the Gundam Seed Destiny Final Plus. Well, below are my favorite characters in the story.

Well, below are my favorite characters in the story.
1. Ieyasu Tokugawa – a man whose arms and fists ruled the battlefield, with light as his element. He aims to unite Japan with the power of bonds, which is very typical to other main character of major anime series. He is one of the four major characters in the film and probably the type of guy that every girl might fall in love with.
2. Sanada Yukimura – my second favorite character is Yukimura from Sanada clan though he was an enemy of Ieyasu in the video games, they’re actually in good terms in the film. Yukimura has a youthful spirit and also impulsive, especially when he is fighting Masamune Date. What I like about him, is his caring and compassionate nature in the story. When Shingen is about to execute Kenshin, he shows great concern and I supposed that he wants to persuade Shingen to spare the defeated Kenshin.
3. Masamune Date – this guy is the leader of the Oshu gang and probably, the strongest character in the film. I don’t like his fighting style though it somehow resembles that of Wolverine from X-Men. But his probably funny and confident character makes him a remarkable name in the story. Well, I like him when he fights because he’s one of those characters that weren’t running out of any sarcastic words to say. He is also calm and easy-going, I think that’s the reason why he has many followers, isn’t it?
4. Keiji Maeda – a guy who carries a ludicrously oversized nodachi as his weapon with a small monkey accompanying him most of the time. He is a happy-go-lucky man and probably one of the characters in the film that you want to get to know if you had been given a chance. As a gay man, Keiji is my ideal warrior, someone who fights enemy wielding a very big weapon.
5. Sasuke Sarutobi – What a recognizable name, the name Sasuke simply reminds me of the character from Naruto with the same name. Well, this Sasuke is also a ninja and serve the Takeda clan thus, he also serve Sanada Yukimaru when the latter succeeded Shingen.
So, they are my favorite characters from Sengoku Basara: The Last Party, what about yours?
